About the workshop
Thrombocytopenia, also known as low platelet count, can be caused by either reactive or bone marrow pathologies. Timely assessment of platelet counts helps doctors determine the appropriate medical management. In this workshop, we will focus on the biological changes of platelets in thrombocytopenia and present how a simple complete blood count (CBC) with a surrogate thrombopoietic marker can aid in understanding and assessing platelet recovery.
Who should attend?
Diagnostic professionals such as pathologists, biologists, hematopathologists, and also clinicians working in intensive emergency care, pediatric, and bone marrow transplant units to support clinical management.
